Pakora
Pakore are a delicious crispy fried snack made with gram flour ,spices and green chilli. These pakoras are super quick to make anytime . Pakoras are the most popular street food and snack . Mostly pakistani make pakore in rainy season and enjoy with chai(tea). It is also the perfect snack in Iftari. You can serve pakore with Tomato Ketchup and Chatni.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups Gram flour (Besan)
1 cup Water
1 tbs Red chilli flakes
1 tbs salt
1/2 tbs Cumin (zeera)
1/2 tbs Dried coriander seeds (sabut dhaniya)
3 pinch Baking Soda
2 medium size onion (Cut in cube shape)
2 Green chilli chopped
Oil (as needed for deep fry)
Method:
1: Take a bowl ,Add gram flour (besan), salt, Red chilli flakes, cumin (zeera), dried coriander seeds (sabut dhaniya) , Baking soda. Mix together.
2: Slowly add in the water and mix. Made thick paste.
3:Add onion (chopped), Green chilli (chopped). Mix well.
4: Pour the oil in your deep fryer/wok and heat on medium flame.
5:Use a tablespoon to put tablespoonfuls of pakora mixture into the oil.
6: Fry until golden brown and crispy,turning as needed to cook evenly.
Tips:
1:The key to making best crispy pakoras is not to add too much water while making the dough for pakoras.2: Fry the pakoras on a medium flame until crispy. Too low flame with make the pakoras soak up lot of oil. Too high flame will brown the pakoras without cooking the dough well from inside.
3:The color has to be the perfect golden brown. Not yellow and undercooked and not brown and overcooked. This is the part where your frying technique will really come int play.and make sure your besan is fresh.
