TEA (Elaichi Chai)


It is one of the most popular hot beverages in World especially in Pakistan. A cup of milk tea (Chai) in Morning gives you refreshing feel and put you on track of long hard day .
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 2-3 people

INGREDIENTS:

Cardamom
2 cups water
½ cumilk 
1-1/2 tbs Tea powder
2 tbs Sugar

Method:

  1. Boil water in a pot.
  2. Add cardamom and let it steep for 1-2 minutes,uncovered.
  3. Add Tea powder and Sugar in it and boil it for 3-4 minutes on low flame,covered or until the colour deepens .The Tea should smell fragrant when you lift the teapot lid.
  4. Add milk in it and let it steep for 3-4 minutes or until the bubbles start to rise.You will see the change in colour of the tea from milky shade to brown colour when it is ready .
  5. Turn off the Gas and strain tea in cups. 

Tips and Variations:

If  you like more creamy tea, then avoid water and use only Milk . Mix milk, cardamom ,sugar and tea powder and boiled them over medium flame for 6-7 minutes. If you don't like it to creamy then use more water compared with milk.

Taste:

Sweet and Hot.


Serving Ideas:

Serve it in the Morning or Evening with Biscuits and Plain cake.
